Stay healthy this winter with small, simple habits that protect your energy, mood, and immune system.
1. Eat Nutrient-Packed Foods-Seasonal roots like carrots, sweet potatoes, and squash. Sip warm bone broth, ginger tea, or herbal blends. Add garlic, mushrooms, and citrus fruits for natural immune support.
2. Keep Moving - 30 minutes of daily movement (yoga, bodyweight strength, or stretching). Use light weights to keep joints limber and chase away winter fatigue. Step outside for a brisk daytime walk when the sun makes an appearance. Seriously it won’t stay out long!!!
3. Don't Skip Hydration- Cold air tricks your brain into feeling less thirsty, keep a water bottle nearby or swap cold glasses for warm lemon water or tea in our lobby while you wait for your appointment.
.4. Protect Your Sleep -Stick to a consistent bedtime and wake-up time to support your circadian rhythm. Unplug from screens 30 minutes before sleep to lower evening stress, or at least put them in night time mode to help preserve your melatonin. Get natural daylight exposure early in the day to boost serotonin and mood.
5. Stop Germs-Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after crowded outings. Stay home and rest at the very first sign of a cold or fever.
6. Keep up with your general health care, come in for your preventative visits and call us if you need more support.
